Will You Be Mine?!? January 2015 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Project

Craftastic Passion - January Paper Pumpkin - FIlled with Love - Alternative Idea 1

I’m a lucky mom! My son is a senior in high school and still loves to give out Valentines.  I guess when you grow up with a crafty mom you just get used to hauling projects to school to give away 🙂  And . . . what high school kid is going to say no to candy, right?

So, this is what Hayden will be taking to school on Friday.  I used the stamp set from the January 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit to stamp the labels.  I also used some of the leftover Baker’s Twine from both January’s and November’s kits.  They were so easy to put together.  Can’t wait to see how his friends liked them.

Swapped ’til I Dropped at Stampin’ Up! Leadership 2015

Craftastic Passion - My Leadership Swap

Oh my goodness!!  I just returned from the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Leadership in Orlando, FL.  It was so AMAZING!!

There are so many things that I LOVE about events like this one.  We learned so many wonderful techniques, got to see TONS and TONS of awesome samples from Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators around the world, and got treated like queens. But . . . one of my very favorite parts is SWAPPING!

What is swapping you ask?  Well, swapping is when you make several cards of one design, and then swap them with others who have done the same.

The card above was my swap.

And these are the AMAZING cards I got in return.  I wish I had made 50 more!!

Craftastic Passion - Stampin' Up! Leadership Swaps 2015 - 29I just ADORE the way this demonstrator used the Whisper White Baker’s Twine (Item# 124262) to add a fun accent to this card.

Craftastic Passion - Stampin' Up! Leadership Swaps 2015 - 41My friend Cheryl, who I met at Leadership this year, made this sweet card. I love the texture she added with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Item# 133520)  and the clean and simple style.

Craftastic Passion - December 2015 Paper Pumpkin - All Shook Up Alternatives (1)

I am so IN LOVE with Paper Pumpkin and I am head over heels for this card!!  My favorite part about it . . . it uses TRASH 🙂  Now, by trash, I mean negative space, leftovers, the stuff that comes in your Paper Pumpkin kit that is typically meant to be thrown away.

To give you some perspective, this kit was supposed to make NINE cards.  But . . . with a few basic items from my stash, I was able to get TWENTY-EIGHT cards out of it!!

Stay tuned and I will show you what I used and the FABULOUS cards I was able to make!

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – Don’t Throw Out the Scraps!!

Don’t throw out those Paper Pumpkin scraps!!  Look at what you can do.  Use the negative space from your Paper Pumpkin snowflakes to make an awesome card front design.

Wondering where I got the Lost Lagoon Baker’s Twine? I just used a sponge dauber to add color to the Twine that came in the kit.  Easy Peasy 🙂

Can you find the scraps in the pic below?  First of all, the letters themselves are scraps from the original tag instructions.  And then, the “holes” in the letters came from the inside of the silver tag reinforcers (top tag) and the tags themselves (bottom tag).
